Dr. Tracy Hendershot Honored with WVAFP Family Doc Award at 73rd Annual Scientific Assembly

Charleston, WV – April 20, 2025 — The West Virginia Academy of Family Physicians (WVAFP) is proud to announce that Dr. Tracy Hendershot, MD, FAAFP, has been awarded the prestigious Family Doc Award at the WVAFP 73rd Annual Scientific Assembly.  This honor is one of the Academy’s highest distinctions, recognizing a family physician who exemplifies the mission, vision, and values of the WVAFP through outstanding service and commitment to patients, the profession, and the broader West Virginia community. 

The Family Doc Award is presented annually by the WVAFP Awards Committee to a member physician whose work reflects the essence of compassionate, knowledgeable, and community-centered care.  Dr. Hendershot’s leadership, advocacy, and dedication to advancing family medicine embody the core values of excellence, innovation, professionalism, and service that define this honor. 

A Past President of the WVAFP, Dr. Hendershot continues to serve the organization and his profession with distinction.  He currently serves on the AAFP Finance Committee, is a devoted supporter of the FamMed PAC, and has represented West Virginia for multiple years as a Delegate to the AAFP Congress of Delegates.  His enduring commitment to strengthening access to high-quality primary care and mentoring the next generation of family physicians has left a lasting impact across the state.
