Understanding the Vital Link: Depression and Chronic Disease
In this downloadable monograph, authors discuss the lessons learned about the impact and treatment of depression in some common disease states (heart disease, stroke, diabetes, respiratory disease, chronic pain, cancer) to demonstrate why patients with co-morbid disease will benefit from the identification and treatment of depression. Practical information is presented to assist primary care physicians in identifying co-morbid depression and to develop a rationale for treatment.

Urine Drug Testing in Clinical Practice
This is the third edition of a very well-received monograph designed to help primary care physicians deal with the controversies regarding the clinical value of UDTs. These questions arise partly because most current methods are designed for, or adapted from, forensic or workplace deterrent-based testing for illicit drug use. As a result, they are not necessarily optimized for clinical applications where a number of licit prescription drugs must also be included. However, when used with an appropriate level of understanding, UDTs can improve a health care professional's ability to manage therapy with prescription drugs (including controlled substances), to diagnose substance misuse (abuse) or addiction, to guide treatment and to advocate for patients.

A Clinical Conversation: Diagnosis and Treatment of Adult ADHD
You don’t “get” ADHD as an adult. While there is fear of “over-diagnosing” in kids, we have a large group of adults who were never diagnosed. We now know ADHD often persists into adulthood: as many as 67 percent of children diagnosed with ADHD will continue to have symptoms in their adult lives. In this online conversation, two expert faculty members address the diagnosis and treatment for this disease.
